A hero is known as a person who is admired for their achievements and noble qualities. There are so many people known as the hero in our society such as Shivaji, who was the founder of Maratha Empire, Chatrapati. Shivaji was a gallant ruler whose empire enclosed almost the complete Indian subcontinent at one point of time. Ashoka who was one of the wisest men you can find in BCE, not only fought wars but realized that war will not be the end but is beginning of something much worse.

Rani Lakshmi Bai who was the Queen of Maratha ruled the state of Jhansi. Rani Lakshmi Bai is one of the most popular female warriors in the Indian history. She was also one of the leaders in the rebellion of 1857. These people did something so special that right now they are remembered for it. Today, playing the role of a hero or a heroine marks your name as a hero and people start calling you one! As nice as it may sound it seems like the word is losing its real value! There is nothing so special about it anymore. Nothing that only few can obtain! Even in this world, we still have some celebrities that became a real-life HERO by saving lives! Yes! They saved the lives of the people whether they were the ones on set or a stranger. Here is a list of them.

1. Farhan Akhtar

1. Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, playback singer, lyricist and television host. He is the director of the movie, Dil Chahta Hai which received so many critical acclaims and won a National award. His highest grossing film is the Don sequel. He got the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for starring as Milkha Singh in the 2013 film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. But none of these are accounted him as heroic action!

When the whole team, including Farhan Akhtar, of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ was shooting in Turkey. After the pack up, the crew was enjoying their time near the beach. Darshan, Ranveer Singh's hairdresser, went for a swim in the ocean. Everything was fine until they heard him struggling! He was getting deeper and deeper and our hero Farhan Akhtar jumped right into the ocean to save his life!

2. Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma is one of the most successful and highly-paid actresses in India. And let’s not forget about her popularity. So many accolades have been given to her including one Filmfare Award. Gender equality and animal rights are some of the different charities and causes that she supports. However, she is not our heroine for any of these! She prevented a great accident on the scene of NH10.

Anusha is the real heroine for what she did!

A person who was on the set that day said: “When Anushka began her shot, she saw the moon box, containing lights, swaying due to the storm. She noticed that the skimmer holding the moon box had torn and there were 900 kilos of lights looming over the crew. The venue was evacuated instantly. Had she not realized it on time, there would have been a disastrous accident.” Now, that is how you become a heroine! Well done Anushka!

3. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt earned so many awards such as the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for Highway and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Udta Punjab. Alia also has her own clothing line for women. She participated in PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, to raise awareness about homeless animals. And of course, none of this is why she has appeared on our list!

Also, Varun Dhawan who is the son of David Dhawan, film director. His Bollywood breakthrough was Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. For his performance in Badlapur, he received a Filmfare Award for Best Actor nomination. The role was not that easy for him as he explained it as a terrifying experience. The two were on their way back from the promotion of their movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Remember how we mentioned that celebrities saved even the lives of some strangers?! Here is the story! On their way back to the hotel, they found a man on National Highway No. 8 who was bleeding! Without hesitating a second they got out to help the man and made sure that he got the medical care! Varun said,"I didn't think much; I just did what my instinct told me to at that point in time. I am just happy to know that the boy is out of danger now."
