These days, the first thing that we watch when we go to the cinema before the movie is an advertisement that is on at every single screening. Can you remember what the ad is!? The impact of smoking. It is all about how harmful smoking is! This shows how common it is and how fatal it can become if it gets out of control. Many celebs also smoke whether it is their daily habit or it is because of their roles. While some keep smoking, some of the celebrities have quit it successfully and gave us another reason to appreciate their existence by setting a great example, here are some of our heroes.

Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan role in the movie Hum Tum earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor. He was widely praised for his role in the movie Being Cyrus. Filmfare included his performance in this movie as Top 80 Iconic Performances. He has participated in many charity events such as 2005 HELP! Telethon Concert for victims of Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami that happened in 2004. This iconic star quit smoking and even alcohol due to the heart attack!

Before being an actor, Vivek Oberoi was running a family business, a chain of Medical stores. He was lucky enough to be spotted by the director of New York University when he was attending a workshop there to complete his degree in acting. He received the Red and White Bravery Award for helping to rebuild a village that was destroyed by the tsunami in 2006. He is also the spokesperson for World Health Organization. Not only did he quit smoking after his visit to a cancer hospital, he also became the ambassador of WHO's anti-smoking movement.

Ranbir Kapoor

For playing in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, one of the highest-grossing movies in Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor earned two consecutive Best Actor awards at Filmfare. He is one of the most popular stars in Indian movie industry and one of the highest paid ones evidently. He is the ambassador of Shabana Azmi's Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO. this organization advocates women’s empowerment. Ranbir Kapoor cannot be addressed as someone who has completely stopped smoking but his bet with the director of Barfi, Anurag Basu change his life!

Salman Khan is known for helping so many people in this industry especially when they needed financial help so it is no surprise that his name is on this list! He even did not charge for playing in some of the movies he worked in. He won so many awards such as numbers of National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards.His charity Being Human is a foundation that provides education and healthcare services for the underprivileged in India. He stopped smoking due to a minor nerve illness and ever since there has been no trace of that!
