Here's everything you need to know about the new Miss World, Manushi Chhillar
Two days ago, on 18 November 2017, Miss India Manushi Chhillar became the 2017 Miss World. About 126 women from all around the globe took part in this contest which occurred in the Sanya, China. This year's finalists included candidates from Mexico, India, and England. The first vice miss was Mexican Andrea Meza, the second - British Stephanie Hill. But only one lucky beauty received the crown. This year lucky lady is a 20-year-old medical student from Haryana, India. She is also the sixth Indian woman to win this title.
Manushi Chhillar was born in Haryana. Her father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation, while her mother, Dr. Neelam Chhillar, is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences. The young beauty works as a professional model but in the future, she wants to become a vascular surgeon and work among the poorer social groups. She is studying at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat.

As we can read in Economic Times during the final five question and answer section, Miss was asked which profession she believes deserved the highest salary. She said: "I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it's not always about cash but I feel it's the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary."
Chhillar is also known for her charity work, she co-founded the "Beauty with a Purpose" foundation, which is involved in humanitarian campaigns around the world. The campaign's goal is to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene. This Beauty is not only smart but also talented. She is a trained Kuchipudi dancer and has learned from legendary dancers Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. She has also attended the National School of Drama. But how the future doctor got a chance to be a Miss World?

On 25 June 2017, Chhillar took part in the Femina Miss India 2017 competition, where she was the representer of the state of Haryana. She won the title, as well she was crowned Miss Photogenic. Thanks to this, she got a right to represent India at the Miss World 2017 competition. There Manushi became a semifinalist in the Top Model, People's Choice, and Multimedia competitions. She was crowned Miss World 2017 by outgoing titleholder Stephanie Del Valle, the last year's Miss World winner from Puerto Rico, and became the sixth Indian woman to win the crown, after 17 years, since Priyanka Chopra won Miss World 2000.
Thanks to Manushi Chhillar's win, India established a record crown in the competition. The same number of victorious candidates can boast Venezuela. Priyanka Chopra, who is a big International actress right now has congratulated her young successor. She wrote on her twitter: "And we have a successor!Congratulations @ManushiChhillar on becoming #MissWorld2017. cherish and learn, and most importantly enjoy it. Bravo."

Before Priyanka Chopra, this title was held by Yukta Mookhey in 1999. After she was crowned, her acting career started to get bigger. Although she said with a bitter "Many producers wanted to sign me when I became Miss World. But the money was bad and the stories were lousy". She starred in few movies as well as in music videos, but without any great success. In 2004, Mookhey became a member of the political party Bharatiya Janata Party and she still engages in social and charitable causes.
Diana Haydon became the Miss World in 1997. After she won the crown, she tried her abilities in acting. She moved to the UK and studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and later at the Drama Studio London. Then she hosted Miss Europe twice in 2001 and 2002 in Lebanon and was signed by the Avalon Academy in 2006 as the face of it. Recently she works as a celebrity Guest Lecturer for airline personnel training programs.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was Miss World in 1994. Today she is the Queen of Bollywood. What is interesting she also was 20 and wanted to study medicine, when she won the title, but circumstances prevented her. She is a very popular actress and L'Oréal international brand ambassador. We are not able to count her awards and merits. Soon we will see her in the musical drama Fanney Khan alongside Anil Kapoor.
Reita Faria was the first Asian woman to win Miss World in 1966. After fulfilling the duties of the winner, she refused modeling and films and instead concentrated on her medical studies. She completed her M.B.B.S. degree at the Grant Medical College & Sir J. J. Group of Hospitals and studied at King's College Hospital in London. There Faria married her mentor, endocrinologist David Powell with whom she lives in Dublin to this day and where she had her medical practice.
