Highlights of Star Screen Awards 2017!

The Star Screen Awards, one of our most popular award ceremonies happened on Sunday and so much happened that we cannot stay quiet about it! From the way the stars dressed, to the songs that were performed and the awards that were handed to the celebrities. Everything was so unique just like how it always is! The Star Screen Awards is one of the excuses to celebrate and honor all the talented celebrities and professionals we have in our movie industry. This year lots of surprises happened, so here is what you have missed in case you didn’t watch the ceremony!

The highest number of awards that were received went to Dangal and Tumhari. Here is the summary of all the awards given at the 23rd edition of the Star Screen Awards:
Best Lyricist: Amitabh Bhattacharya for Dangal
Best Dialogue: Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Nitesh Tiwari for Bareilly Ki Barfi
Best Background Music: Pritam Chakraborty for Dangal
Best Editing: Ballu Saluja for Dangal
Best Choreographer: Shiamak Davar for ‘Ullu Ka Pattha’ (Jagga Jasoos)

Weren’t we all looking for this moment to happen?!

Rajkummar said: “Oscars! There we go! I hope the new year brings along a lot of happiness, for the whole country. We are very hopeful for Newton, and I hope the new year will be great for Newton as well. Yes, I would like to walk the red carpet at the Oscars, but I am not dreaming about it. It is better to be neutral and happy about the fact that it is India’s official entry for the Oscars this year.”
And just like any of us, the star wants for Meryl Streep or Daniel Day-Lewis to hand him the award! Just imagine the feeling of getting an award from Meryl Streep!

She deserves to get her own category after being nominated every year!
So many people have called 2017, Rajkummar’s year and this is how he feels about this: “Oh man! I really enjoyed, I am glad I got to be a part of some really wonderful films. I hope it continues in 2018 as well, I hope you guys say that 2018 is my year as well. It was like a sixer, Bose was my last hit, as I said, I am happy with the fact that most of my films did well, and people liked my efforts and my sincerity.”

This was not the only thing that happened that night! Amitabh Bachchan paid a tribute to Vinod Khanna on behalf of the film industry at the Star Screen Awards as well! He wrote: “Remembering a friend that has left us before time is painful and most sad... Our condolences and prayers for his soul…”
And to wrap it all up, let’s thank these celebs for dazzling our eyes! Kriti Sanon with that perfect dress, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar and oh so Tiger Shroff.
