Hair-raising detail from a photo taken 116 years ago
To begin it is worth mentioning that digital photos are recently manipulated so badly that sometimes it is hard to believe to what we see. Nowadays it is possible to change some details in any digital photography without much effort using new technologies. The field of technology has a lot of programs that can do all (a good example is famous Photoshop).
These types of tools can help anyone to retouch photos, no matter if you just want to remove an item from it, add another or simply make someone look more attractive. In addition, at every turn in the Internet we find photographs whose authenticity is difficult to ascertain because of the modifications.
In this article, we have an example of a real photo, that surely had never been retouched. At first glance, this black and white photo seems to be very ordinary, despite being taken long ago.
If you look very carefully at this picture taken 116 years ago and you will feel shivers down your spine. Photo from 1900, taken at an old mill in the city of Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK) was published on the Belfast Live website as part of a historical gallery dedicated to the missing local professions, which were the main source of livelihood for the inhabitants of the ancient city.

The image shows a group of 15 barefooted girls who pose facing the camera with arms crossed. On the faces of some of them, we can see a shy smile, while others are quite serious. However, it is easy to see in this photo a scary detail.
On the right side of the photograph on the right shoulder of one of the girls there is “something” that isn’t quite right with the common nature of the image: a hand that doesn’t belong to anyone on this photograph. In addition, considering that all workers have crossed arms, we find this detail very mysterious.

The "protagonist" of the photograph was recognized by her own granddaughter, while a reader of the newspaper decided to write and tell the whole story captured in the photo of 1900. Lynda Donnelly commented as follows: "I am happy to see this old photograph of my grandmother when she worked at the mill ... my father had this photo at home ... a familiar sight spooky! "said Lynda.

It is worth adding that experts tried to identify what was what happened in this photo, but unfortunately were not able to determine anything. Until today we haven’t got the answer to the question who this mysterious hand could belong to? What do you think? Have you ever met a similar or equal scary image?
