9 Celebrity women who left their man for a woman
Love triangles of any kind are exhausting, dramatic and often leaves at least one of the parties involved in awe. The ladies on this list have all added an extra element of surprise to their heartbroken exes. What was this surprise? They have left their husbands or boyfriends for the company of another woman (or women).

1. Anne Heche
Steve Martin and Anne Heche happily dated for two years until Anne Heche met Ellen DeGeneres at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 1997. The next we know after she met Ellen DeGeneres is that Anne soon dumped Martin and embarked on a very public romance with the comedian, who revealed her sexual orientation as a lesbian on her TV show a week later that incident. The lesbian couple stayed together for a couple of years and then split after that.

2. Portia De Rossi
The Australian actress was married to the man and had embarked on several relationships with men before she married Ellen DeGeneres in 2008. De Rossi admitted on the TV show, The Conversation with Amanda De Cadenet that she just didn’t want to be a lesbian. But that changed when she met Ellen Degeneres backstage at an award show, causing her to come out of her closet and tie a knot four years later.
3. Angelina Jolie
During the filming of Hackers (1996) Angelina Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller and they soon tied a knot. In 1996, Jolie met a Japanese model Jenny Shimizu on the set of Foxfire (1996) and according to sources, the women hooked up several times during Jolie’s marriage. Jolie soon ended her marriage with Lee Miller in 1999 and went on a full-fledged on-again-off-again relationship with Shimizu. The pair obviously moved on - Jolie with Brad Pitt and Shimizu with wife Michelle Harper.

4. Meredith Baxter
Meredith Baxter was married to three different men before came out of the closet with her partners and the public about her sexuality. After she divorced three men she admitted to Matt Lauer that she deliberately chose men she was incompatible with as a means of explaining the splits later. She also said that she realized that she had a great difficulty connecting with men in relationships after she met her now-wife Nancy Locke after her breakup from Michael Blodgett.
5. Cynthia Nixon
Danny Mozes and ‘Sex and the City’ star Cynthia Nixon were together for 16 years and had two kids before calling it quits in 2003. The reason? Well, news broke out that Nixon had a girlfriend, who is now Nixon’s wife, education activist Christine Marinoni. Ouch!!! She told New York Daily News that if anybody asked her about her sexuality before her meeting with Christine she would have said she was bisexual but that changed after she met Christine.

6. Billie Jean King
Tennis legend, Billie Jean King was married to sports promoter Larry King (not from the famous TV show!) for 21 years. The pair married in 1965, there were rumours about King’s affair with her secretary which was confirmed when her former Secretary Marilyn Barnett sued her and her husband for unlawfully evicting her from the residence after the affair ended. King admitted having that affair in 1981. King divorced Larry in 1987 and officially came out of the closet in 2000. She now lives with her longtime partner and fellow tennis pro-Ilana Kloss.
7. Amber Heard
We all heard about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s marriage going down in flames. Rumours suggest that Heard’s bisexuality may have played a big role in the messy and disturbing breakup. Reports suggest that they had a clash over Heard’s friendship with photographer iO Tillett Wright who reportedly moved into the couple’s guest house against Depp’s wishes. Apparently, Wright wasn’t the only one, reports suggest that in January 2013, Heard ditched Depp for model Marie de Villepin and was still shacking up with ex-girlfriend Tasya van Ree when they were together.

We all know that Lindsay Lohan dated a lot of Hollywood men. One of them was hunky British TV personality Calum Best, whom she dumped in 2007 following what he called a "combustible relationship". Soon after that, she hooked up with longtime girlfriend Samantha Ronson. So now we know why it was "combustible". Lohan later denied being gay or bise*ual but admitted that her relationship with Ronson was "toxic".

Comedian Wanda Sykes was married to Dave Hall from 1991 to 1998. When they split in 2008 coming out to her parents about her sexuality didn’t go well with her. She told her mum that the one she was living with was not just her roommate but her girlfriend. When Wanda Sykes married Alex Niedbalski in 2008, her parents didn’t attend, but reportedly they are better terms now.
