Only 7 women can dress in white in front of the Pope...
Although the Apostolic See no longer imposes anything on women's clothing suitable for a meeting with the Pope, the protocol suggests valid during the visits of the heads of states, priests, journalists and even ordinary believers who come to pay a visit. In the case of women who are part of official delegations, a long black dress is required, with a high neck and long sleeves. Also, using a blanket of the same dark color is advised. Bright colors are forbidden!
Not all ladies, however, have to remain faithful to these indications at all times. Due to certain historical reasons, some of the women (the Catholic queens and princesses or the consorts of the Catholic monarchs, to be more exact) besides dressing in black can make use of the "white privilege" whose idea is under the pontiff's management. It should be noted that in 2016 only seven of them could wear white outfits during the hearings.
