How to recognize bug bites and react in time
The sad truth is that anyone can be stung or bitten by some insects and no one is really waiting for this moment. However, you have them and try to avoid, in summer it’s quite easy to experience it. Some of the bug bites are not that serious and your skin "only" aches and is swollen for a while and then you forget what happened. However, there are also bugs that are more dangerous for you! You’d better know how to recognize those bug bites!
Mosquitoes are annoying but they are generally harmless, at least in most regions in the world (in a tropical area they are more harmful). How does their bite look like? It’s a berry-sized spot of a red color and may appear anywhere on your body. However, mosquitoes mostly go for open areas of your body and where your skin is relatively thin for them to be closer to blood vessels. When they bite you, they inject their saliva and that causes itching and swelling.

These insects rarely attack you without a purpose such as irritating them with something. But if they do, then you have to remove their sting if it’s there. When you do this, your skin may appear to be red and itchy. And unfortunately, you will experience a sharp pain in your swollen skin. Their bites are not so harmful but they may cause some breathing problems especially if you are allergic to these insects’ poison.
Hornets are definitely more dangerous especially if you encounter a big swarm of hornets. You’d better keep a distance from them. If they bite you then your skin will immediately start to swell and get red. You’d better cool the area immediately, it should help. And again, hornet’s sting is not that dangerous but if someone has an allergy to its position then they need to rush to the hospital, especially if you feel numb and your lips turn blue.

Wasps often bite without a reason, for example, if they are on the laundry that is getting dry outside and you want to take it off. Their bite and the consequences afterward are similar to other insects, such as a hornet or a bee. Your skin starts swelling, become itchy and red. However, as they can sting even a few times in a row, you’d better make sure if you are allergic to their bites or not.
Their bites are similar to mosquito bites so you can easily mistake them. They are difficult to be diagnosed as they are also similar to allergy symptoms. However, they are much more painful than mosquito bites and also itchier. Fleas can bite your legs even a couple of times. That's why you can notice a few bites that have 1 or 2 cm gaps on your skin.

As regards to ticks, you cannot underestimate their bites and their appearance on your body! Unfortunately, sometimes it’s quite hard to notice them. Their bite is just a small, barely visible red spot. Ticks can stay under your skin for a long time and this spot may become bigger and easier to be diagnosed. You need to check your body regularly to make sure you don’t have them as ticks can inject many diseases including borreliosis and encephalitis.
If you see a red spot which is still noticeable after the tick is removed then got to the doctor as fast as possible. Borreliosis is a serious inflammatory disease which badly affects your organs. It influences your cardiovascular and nervous system as well as your muscles and joints. So as you can see, this small insect can ruin your health. It’s better to be careful, especially if you often go to the areas with trees, bushes and long grass.

Most ants are not harmful, they don’t pose any serious danger. But red ants are different. Their bites are painful and can cause allergies And this is not something that you should underestimate! It looks like a little pink spot and your skin is itchy. At the moment of being bitten, you can feel a sharp pain and then it disappears.
They are similar to big flies but when they bite you it’s more painful. You will immediately see a red spot which will be no bigger than 1 mm. And then it will get itchy and starts to swell. They may turn out to be as dangerous as ticks and transmit such diseases as anthrax and tularemia. Luckily, the mostly attack only cattle so you are not so likely to be affected by them.
