Celebrity child names that are found ridiculous

Celebrity can be really creative! When their children are born, they don't just go for such simple and common names as Julia, Amy or Kate. They seem to be more and more imaginative and come up with such ridiculous ideas that many people just frown. Well, those poor babies can't do much and hopefully, they won't be teased at school when they grow up. Instead, those names could give them a better chance to distinguish themselves and become popular one day just as their parents are.

Pharrell Williams - Rocket Ayer

This ridiculous name Rocket came about because parents wanted something that could represent their hope for their son and as the name indicates, Ayer is meant to ascend. The talented singer wrote a song for his first son with a title "Rocket’s Theme", the song is part of the soundtrack of Despicable Me (2010) and it shows how Ayer makes his parents feel.

Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West - North West

"It was a rumor in the press, and we'd never really considered it seriously at all, but Kanye and I were having lunch right over there at that table about a year ago, and Pharrell [Williams] came over to us and said, 'Oh my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name.' I said, 'No, we're not. That's just a rumor. Then a little while later, Anna Wintour came over and asked the same thing. She told us, 'North is a genius name.' Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck." - Kim said in an interview.

Geri Halliwell - Bluebell Madonna

The name sound so cute that although it's quite unusual, it's just sweet and when the baby is grown up, she will appreciate her unique name. Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) gave such a name to her daughter's name, Bluebell Madonna, to pay homage to both beautiful flowers and music. Only a sensitive soul of a singer or any other artist could do something like this!

Beyoncé and Jay-Z - Blue Ivy

There were a lot of rumors as to why Beyoncé and Jay-Z named their daughter Blue Ivy but we know both singers are fond of the color blue (do you remember when Jay-Z rapped,"My favorite hue is Jay-Z blue?"?) As far as her middle name, Ivy means the Roman numeral IV, or four, that is Beyoncé's birthday (Sept. 4), Jay-Z's birthday (Dec. 4) and their anniversary date (April 4).

Nicolas Cage - Kal-El

"My wife wanted a unique name and originally I thought of the name Kyleand then she said, ‘No, something more unusual but beautiful.’ ThenI remembered the old Superman comics and Kal-El was his original name on Krypton. So I wanted a name that stood for something good, was unique and American and that’s all three. I just thought it was a beautiful name and it had kind of a magical ring to it." - explains the actor.

Cardi B - Kulture Kiari Cephus

Cardi B says that Migos was the one who has chosen the name, she explained it in one of her interviews. "My dude named the baby. I really like the name. Imma let him say the name since he named the baby. It's, like, almost tricky but when it comes out, it's like, 'Ahh!'". Kulture Kiari Cephus? Well, it is indeed unique, to be honest... Her friends will like it one day, for sure.

Jessica Simpson - Ace Knute

Ace is believed to be the choice of the couple since February and it means "a person who excels at something." It also sounds similar to the name of a pro athlete in the making, which is ideal because Eric Johnson is a former NFL star. Well, some parents really have strange ideas. We hope that Ace will like it one day. It's not that bad after all...

Zooey Deschanel - Elsie Otter

"In the sense that we're all mammals. We thought Elsie is kind of a classic name. A lot of people have grandmas and aunts name Elsie." Zooey Deschanel explained in one interview and then added "I love animals so much. And we love otters because they're so cute, and playful and fun. And they’re really smart." She admitted that her daughter is just wonderful!

Sam Worthington - Rocket Zot

Sam Worthington and Lara Bingle's first child was named Rocket Zot mostly because they just liked it! But there is also another reason. "My son’s middle name is a respectful nod to my late father, whose nickname was affectionately, Zot," Lara explained on social media one month after their child was born. Wow, this is just incredible! Maybe he will be as fast as a rocket.

Gwyneth Paltrow - Apple

Gwyneth explained her daughter name in one interview. "People did talk about Apple a lot! My husband named her. I loved it straightway. I thought it was so unique and sounded cool. She is nearly eight now and it fits her so perfectly. I can’t imagine her being called anything else." And the name is indeed wonderful, but sometimes it can be also confusing...

Steven Spielberg - Destry

Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw have seven children and one of them is Destry, who is now a successful model! It turns out that she was part of her dad’s inspiration to adapt the Tony-winning play "War Horse"! "My daughter is a great companion to have tonight because I made this movie with her in mind" Spielberg told in an interview.

Eddie Murphy - Zola Ivy

We are coming back to Ivy, this time parents, Eddie Murphy and Nicole Mitchell, created a name that sounds nice, although it's quite a ridiculous combination. Eddie Murphy's other kids include Bella Zahra, Shayne Audra, Brea and Angel Iris Murphy Brown (the last child was with Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, aka Scary Spice). What an amazing family!

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore - Tallulah, Scout & Rumer

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis were inspired by literature when they were looking for two of their daughters' names. The first one, Scout is allegedly taken from "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Rumer was an inspiration after British author Rumer Godden). However, we don't know who gave inspiration to the name Tallulah. And this one is quite interesting...

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - Shiloh Nouvel

In 2006, Angelina gave birth to her and Brad’s first biological child. A report from Radar Online claimed that 11-year-old Shiloh, who was born a girl, asked her parents to be identified as a boy and she wanted to be called John! Well, we don't know how she is called at home but we know that Shiloh is a Hebrew name and it means "place of peace".

Jena Malone - Ode Mountain

"What an incredible blessing to be chosen by this amazing, kind, gentle and beautiful soul to be his parents. Humbled and in complete awe that we get to experience the most ancient and transcendent love that exists." - Malone wrote after she gave birth to Ode Mountain. She and DeLorenzo, the child's father, proved to have crazy ideas as the name is indeed weird.

Ashlee Simpson - Bronx Mowgli & Jagger Snow

Ashlee Simpson and her ex-husband, Pete Wentz are also crazy parents. Wentz said that Mowgli came from The Jungle Book. "The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It's a cool name". And Jagger Snow is a correlation to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger which is quite obvious to guess if we know how Ashlee loves music.

Holly Madison - Rainbow Aurora

"I wanted to give my daughter a unique name. Growing up, there was a girl in my school named Rainbow and I was so envious of that name. I thought it was so pretty and unique" - explained Holly and she also added "There are a lot of smug haters out there who bag on my choice of a name, but I don’t care about what they think. I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age."

Jason Lee - Pilot Inspektor

In 2005, Jason Lee said that he named his baby boy after a song on the indie rock band Grandaddy's 2000 album The Sophtware Slump. "The opening track, 'He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot,' absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it. It was from this track that my wife, Beth, came up with the name Pilot for our son." Wow, an incredible story!

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott - Stormi

"I really don’t know how we thought of Storm. Her dad [Travis Scott] insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me. And that kind of just stuck with us. And then I didn’t really like just Storm—I didn’t feel like that was her name. So then it became Stormi. And it just stuck." - explained Kylie in an interview. Do you like this name? It's not that bad!
