Why Kate Middleton always wears the same colour to her children’s christenings
If you look at the photos from all the christenings of Kate Middleton’s children then you will quickly notice that they have something in common. It turns out that she has a new tradition of wearing white or creams during these events. Some Royal observers try to explain Kate’s choices by saying that it’s all because of Royal Christening Gown that her children wore during the christening. She supposedly wanted to look in a similar way. Let's look at the amazing photos from all the christenings!
The gown is a replica of the Royal Christening Gown and was made in 2008 by Angela Kelly. The original gown was made in 1841, then used by Queen Victoria for her first baby, Adelaide Mary Louisa, which was actually worn by 62 royal babies! Indeed, it has just an amazing history and all the children looked fabulous wearing the gowns. Amazing!

The youngest of the Cambridge children, Prince Louis, was baptized in a private ceremony with his parents Prince William and Kate who were proudly looking at their all children. The 40-minute service was held in royal tradition, with the holy water used to the gown the baby was wearing. Their older children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were baptized in 2013 and 2015.
Prince Louis was baptized at the Royal Chapel in St James's Palace. It's the place where George was also christened. However, Charlotte's christening was held at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, where Princess Diana was also baptized. Regardless of the place, all the christenings were amazing events that moved millions of people's hearts.
This is one of the official photos that captured a unique moment between Kate and her new baby boy. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, following Prince Louis’s christening - isn't it an amazing photo? They are so genuinely happy! And what is the most adorable thing is that all the children look so sweet!
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Members of the Royal Family in the Morning Room at Clarence House, following Prince Louis’s christening" - states one of the official photos. The photo centers around Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It also includes Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Charles, and Camilla Bowles Parker.
Can it be some other reason why she wears white and cream on these occasions? The shade is also representative of purity and innocence so that may be the answer. And this is what we can expect of Kate as she is always such an innocent woman. She knows how to represent her Royal Family with grace, elegance, and dignity. Real princess!
She held baby Prince Louis in her arms as she walked into the church. Kate wore her hair in a big, low bun which was tacked elegantly under the hat. Also, a pair of pearl flower earrings were seen in her ears. She kept her makeup simple, choosing a dark brown eyeshadow and a little bit of mascara. She was wearing her favourite black eyeliner as well.
And just look at the baby! He is so sweet, adorable and quiet. Kate was really lucky as her child wasn't crying during the service and instead, he stunned everyone who saw him. He may not realize now who he is and what is his background but one day he will look at these photos and will be proud of his parents who gave him life and enabled to be baptized.
As to the service itself, there is one difference concerning its timing. Unlike Charlotte, who was baptized on a Sunday morning, Louis' christening took place in the afternoon on Monday 9 July. The statement from Kensington Palace read: "The service will begin at 4pm and will last approximately 40 minutes." George was also baptized at a similar time in October 2013.
"She has blossomed and looked more confident, beaming with happiness." - says royal biographer Ingrid Seward of Majesty magazine. And this is entirely true. Kate actually doesn't stop smiling! The Duchess of Cambridge was beaming with joy at her beautiful, charming baby boy when the whole family arrived at Prince Louis' christening.
Royal photographer, Matt Holyoak was happy to capture the important moments between the family. He said "I was truly honoured at being asked to take the official photographs at the christening of Prince Louis, and to witness at first hand such a happy event. Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs."
Then it was time for official photographs! They were taken by Matt Holyoak at Clarence House. The first portrait in the series features the royal family, along with the Middleton family, including Kate's sister Pippa and her husband James Matthews, brother James, father Michael, and mother Carole. The family looks so elegant and impressive!

We see a lot of similarities between outfits that the Dutches of Cambridge was wearing during all the christenings and thanks to the light colours, white or cream, she looks just like her babies. When we look at this photo, we can see striking similarities between all of Kate's babies. They look so alike, just like twins. And they are already famous! We like it!
The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. After it was finished, he wrote on social media "I’m delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today - a precious child made in God’s image, just as we all are. Please join me in praying for him and his family on this special day." Everyone will remember this event!
Kate looked just like a princess. For the occasion, she wore an Alexander McQueen dress with a structured shoulder detail and Jane Taylor headpiece fit. She also wore McQueen (her wedding dress designer, do you remember?) for the christenings of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She looked fabulous! What a moving photo!
