From the beginning it was plagued with much controversy but who is Danielle Bregoli? Why is she known as the Cash Me Ousside Girl? How did she start her career? Who Is She?

Who Is She?

While she became famous thanks to her Dr. Phil appearance and known by her nickname many people don’t actually know what the young viral star’s name is. So here we come to the rescue with such information. The girl, who under her professional name goes as Bhad Bhabie (pronounced: Bad Baby) was born Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli on March 26th, 2003 in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her parents Ira Peskowitz and Barbara Ann Bergoli had dated for a year before her mother got pregnant but ended up separating when she was still an infant.

Due to her appearance on the Dr. Phil show and from what her mother said, we know that growing up she had behavior issues some of which got as severe as stealing cars and credit cards. Not knowing how to deal with this on September 14th, 2016, Bregoli and her mother Barbara Ann were interviewed for a segment called “I Want To Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime" and that allegedly included her stealing a crew member’s car while the episode was being filmed! The audience wasn’t sympathetic towards the young teen and would laugh at her and after Danielle became irritated she responded saying “Catch me outside, how about that?” jokingly asking them to fight outside the studio. But here her accent made it sounds like she had said “Cash me ousside, how bout dah” which the internet had quickly turned into a meme, and Bregoli was from then on known as the “Cash Me Outside Girl”.

Did It Help?

To help her mother deal with her behavior, Dr. Phil had referred Danielle to a residential program in Utah called Turn-About Ranch, a place he would send other troubled kids and teens so they could get the help they needed. Though as recent allegations and lawsuits suggest the place might have done more harm than good but more about that later so make sure you read until the very end! The following year in February, the girl made a return to the program, this time without an audience, and told the host that she was okay with who she was and that she now knows that she doesn’t have to put on a front to impress anyone. However, according to New York Daily News, later that year she was arrested and pleaded guilty to charges of grand theft, possession of the happy plant, and filing a false police report and for which she was sentenced to five years’ probation in July 2017, though it ended much sooner in March 2018, after she hired a new lawyer.

But that appearance and her famous catchphrase had already gotten her name out there and she had become somewhat internet famous to the point that her phrased had inspired a single based on that clip. It was recorded by DJ Suede The Remix God and it entered the Billboard Hot 100, Streaming Songs, and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. And when the phrase became popular, other brands had tried to use it to make some money but the girl and her mother ended up suing three companies for “infringing intellectual property rights” and they had also threatened to sue Walmart for using her catchphrase on TV shirts. And all this popularity had landed her with a nomination for the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards in the "Trending" category.

An Agent and Music.

Though despite the problems she had at the beginning the young girl also had hoped to make it as a rapper and in early 2017 she was signed by music manager Adam Kluger. This had initially received industry backlash with people claiming that the only reason she was famous was for the way she acted on television. Though it seems that he was right in taking a risk because her first single which was released on August 24th, 2017 reached number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the youngest female rap artist to debut on the music chart. The success of the single which was titled “These Heaux” had landed the girl with a multi-album recording contract with Atlantic Records. In September that same year, she released her second single which reached 68 on the Hot 100 chart and a day after Whachu Know, which was a single alongside a video that received 3 million views in 24 hours, according to The Wrap.

End of November 2018 she embarked on the third and fourth legs of her tour and it seemed she also had a good presence live because it received many good reviews which stated that she had a great stage presence and 10Daily had even compared her to Britney Spears during the early days of her career. Her career only grew and soon she announced an endorsement deal with Copycat Beauty and as per TMZ, on the very first day of the six-month deal, the company’s sales spiked, reaching 500,000 on the first day alone!

Snapchat Reality Show!

And with such popularity of course came, a reality series but this one was a bit unusual as it was released on Snapchat. Yes, you heard it right, the reality series titled Bringing Up Bhabie, was released on the photo-sharing app as part of their Snap Originals. The show had followed Bregoli’s day-to-day life and her building her music career. According to TMZ reports from the start of 2019, the first season which consisted of 12 episodes, had 10 million unique viewers in its first 24 hours alone!

Controversies!

From the start, Danielle was seen as controversial with the way that she had acted from the moment she appeared on Dr. Phil but that wouldn’t be the end of the controversies. In December 2019 a video of Bhabie wearing box braids was posted to Instagram which right away caused controversy over cultural appropriations which led to her going on a social media hiatus until February. There has also been another round of controversy sparked by recent news. Seeing that last month this rapper had turned 18, like many other people, she decided to start an OnlyFans account. And according to reports, she broke a record!

OnlyFans Record!

Bhad Bhabie took to her Instagram to share the news with her followers. On her profile, she is charging $23.99 per month for access to photos and videos on her OnlyFans page with subscribers also being promised the opportunity to “direct message with the user”. Sharing the screenshot from her earnings, it showed that in the first six hours of her page being live, she had made $757,526.08 from subscriptions, $267,675 from DM payments, and $5,000 in tips. Breaking the fastest record to earn a million, which as we mentioned before previously was held by Bella Thorne with 24 hours. According to NME magazine, a spokesperson for the site had confirmed that what the rapper posted was true. While the site is predominantly meant for explicit content, it is not known if that is the nature of her content. But artists like Cardi B had partnered with the online subscription platform to release behind-the-scenes content, address ongoing rumors and connect closer with her fans. With an estimated net worth of $4 million, the cash she will make from the platform could easily help the sum of money go up.

Allegations Against The Ranch!

However, it turns out that all those years she was hiding a secret and one she had only decided to speak about recently. Last month the 18-year-old had come forward with allegations of physical and mental abuse at the Ranch which she was sent to following her appearance on Dr. Phil back in 2016. She took to her YouTube and posted an 8-minute long video under the hashtag Breaking Code Silence. Bregoli shared her support for Hannah Archuleta, a former teen resident of Turn-About Ranch in Escalante, Utah, who is now suing the facility for negligence after an alleged intimate assault by a staff member in 2019 and who just like Danielle was sent there after appearing on Dr. Phil.

Abusive Staff?

In the video, Bregoli talks about the horrifying experience and about how she was sent to the ranch by transporters “who come in in the middle of the night. They don’t tell them where they’re going. They just take them, they handcuff them, they put them in the car. It’s basically like kidnapping.” Bhad Bhabie went on to talk about how they take away the ‘privilege of necessary things like sleeping on a bed, eating good food, not being cold. She talked about how she witnessed a kid be forcefully restrained and said, and here we quote, “which is against the law, you’re not supposed to touch the kids. ”

Abusive Staff?

No Evidence.

She added that the worst thing is that the kids don’t have evidence as they are not allowed to have their phones there and that there are no cameras. Fans of the rapper had pointed out that when she enrolled in to a rehab facility in 2020 for “childhood trauma and substance abuse” it could have been linked to her experiences at the ranch.

Paris Hilton Helped Them Speak!

Some had pointed out that this story echoes that of Paris Hilton and her own experiences at a teen residential facility, as explored in her 2020 documentary This Is Paris. In fact, Archuleta’s attorney had revealed that what made her speak up was that documentary, and Paris herself took to Twitter to express support to the rapper. Danielle had even implored Dr. Phil to issue an apology, “not only to me but to Hannah and any other child that you sent to Turn-About or any other program like this.” However, he is yet to respond to these claims and allegations, despite a Buzzfeed News investigation finding multiple lawsuits from former attendees of Turn-About and facilities owned by its former parent company Aspen Education, alleging psychological torture, abuse, intimate assault, and human trafficking.
