Missing Case Became A Crime After New Evidence In Gabby Petito Case?
Gabby Petito - Police Involvement
Their journey continued without any known issues until August 12th when police in Moab, Utah had reported responding to an “incident” that had involved a domestic dispute between Gabby and Brian. The Grand County, Utah, Sheriff’s Office had released a 911 recording in September, in which a caller had claimed that he witnessed Laundire allegedly “slapping” Petito and chasing her up and down a sidewalk in Moab while hitting her. In the recording, the caller whose identity has not been revealed claimed that he saw this happen on the main street between a couple that was driving a white van with Florida license plates.
Gabby Petitio & Brian Laundrie - Stopped By Police
As per media reports, Moab Police Department Chief Bret Edge had said that his officers had responded to the incident. They located the van and pulled the couple over. Later, they released body-cam footage of the stop and wrote a report that the couple which was identified as Petitio and Laundrie, admitted to arguing and that Gabby had slapped her boyfriend though they also added that he did not hit her back. As the report revealed at the officer’s suggestion the couple separated for the night, it had also described the 22-year-old as “confused and emotional”. However, after having evaluated the circumstances the responding officer Daniel Robbins did not believe the situation had escalated to the level of domestic assault as much as that of a mental health crisis. And so, no charges were filed.
